A cappuccino cup and saucer set with a unique, distinguished and eye-catching design for coffee breaks. The idea behind this project was to create a desirable, high quality product that would reflect local craftsmanship excellence with design sensitivity. Each piece is made of hand molded porcelain in a local Montreal ceramic workshop. The cappuccino set features a 6oz. cup with a minimalist straight handle and an interesting saucer with a define cup placement area and dimensions to allow snack space. The cups and saucers are stackable and design to fit most standard espresso machines.
This design bridges a gap between fine dining and casual situations. It is inspired by natural forms in particular by Urchins and Corals. The polymer body shells allow strong colours to be employed and resist the corrosive effects of the contents. The size is practical for domestic use whilst being ergonomically functional to hold and the assembly allows for easy batch production. It brings colour and a talking point to dinner parties where it becomes a 'table sculpture' as well as functional object. The materials and appearance make it suitable for an informal gathering of friends.
"There is no beginning, and no end. Water cycles." I gave form to the cycle of water as circle by converging the spout and handle of kettle. Watched from the front, it is circular, but watched from the side, we can see that it is distorted. I suggest the concept of not literal convergence, but design convergence as distorted form. I selected the material of kettle whose heat is not conducted up to the handle. To use environment-friendly one, I avoided rubber.
Attention! cutlery set is developed via the conceptual thinking of ‘being together’ and the principle of keeping all the elements of the set together, stocking these elements and organizing them as a team when they are not in use. The cutlery set, according to the wishes of the customers can be separated and reunited easily. The main principle that the product is based on is the magnetic pull of the magnets placed in the axes of the handles of the 3D forms in a harmonious way. The set is a healtier alternative to the wide use of the nylon bag system.
“seasons” is an interpretation of functional kitchen and serving ware, inspired by nature and technology, through the cultural lens of Japan. Like a real leaf, each serving dish is flexible and multi-purpose. It rolls up for storage using the benefits of silicone to insure its use in an oven or microwave, able to withstand repeated dishwasher cleaning. Each leaf enjoys its own shape, stackable in its open state, and in multiples, creating a sculptural display of serving artware.
From the growing popularity in home baking we could see a need for a modern looking contemporary cake stand, which could be easily stored in a cupboard or draw. Easy to clean and dishwasher safe. Temple is easy to assemble and intuitive by sliding the plates over the central tapered spine. Disassembly is just as easy by simply sliding them back off. All 4 main elements are held together by the Stacker. The Stacker helps keep all the elements together for multi angled compact storage. You can use different plate configurations for different occasions.
